Hunting for
Wildebeest
When hunting wildebeests, aim for a side-on shot, placing the bullet about four inches above the elbow along the back edge of the front leg for a high heart shot. This typically ensures a quick takedown within 50 yards. In South Africa, blue wildebeests are most active during morning and late afternoon, resting during the hottest hours. Approach cautiously and glass for movement in suspected resting areas. Wildebeest hunting often involves spot and stalk in wooded and savanna areas. Be cautious when following up on a wounded wildebeest, as they can be dangerous if approached carelessly.
