Hunting for
Brown Hyena
The Brown Hyena, the rarest African hyena species, thrives in habitats from Namibia's Namib Desert to South Africa's Waterberg Mountains. Shy and nocturnal, they are best hunted in cooler winter months. Adapted to scavenging, they travel long distances for food and have an exceptional sense of smell. Known as 'Standwolf' or 'Beach Wolf,' they make impressive full mounts with their shaggy coats. Their powerful jaws make their skulls notable trophies. Often hunted for killing domestic stock, shooting one helps local landowners. These bone crushers are often undetected near humans and are hunted as vermin for killing domestic stock in South Africa and Namibia, benefiting landowners.
