Hunting for Serval

The serval is a mid-sized feline, weighing 9 to 18 kg, with a body shape similar to a domestic cat and leopard, but with long legs, a small head, and large ears. It stands up to 60 cm at the shoulder and can leap up to 2 meters high or 3.5 meters long. Preferring savannahs with water and cover, the serval is found in South Africa and Zimbabwe. It is most active at twilight but can hunt day or night. Spot-and-stalk or calling at night are effective hunting methods, though baiting is less successful. It may take a few days to locate and hunt a serval.
