Hunting for Honey Badger
Honey Badgers may be hunted as a trophy of opportunity when you bump into an animal and you are not busy on a walk and stalk. Also known as a “ratel”, these feisty no nonsense beasts have serious attitudes and not scared of anything. The best months for hunting Honey Badgers are the dry winter and spring months prior to the onset of the rains when the food they eat, insects, frogs, tortoises, turtles, lizards, rodents, snakes, birds eggs are not readily available so they will be attracted to bait sites. They make great full mounts and conversation pieces about their exploits along with all the folk law stories that go with them.
